I manage products, design experiences, and write code. I specialize in 3D graphics, mobile user interfaces, and data visualization. I envision product roadmaps and collaborate with stakeholders to release, measure, and evangelize pixel-polished software.

With the support of a brilliant team from Cooliris, I led AdJitsu, the world’s first 3D display advertising platform. Amobee acquired AdJitsu’s team and technology in 2012. I continued at Amobee as the Product Manager for PULSE 3D. After a sabbatical, I served as Director of Product Management at Matterport. In August of 2015 I founded Quilt Data with Kevin Moore.

In my spare time I practice CrossFit, meditation, chess, and competitive shooting.

thoughts

If you don't engineer the experience, your customers will experience the engineering.

Aneesh Karve

There is an irreducible amount of complexity in every software problem. Either the user, the application, or the platform must tackle this complexity.

Tesler's Law

We have been fragilizing the economy, our health, political life, education, almost everything… by suppressing randomness and volatility.

Nassim Taleb, Antifragile

Interaction design is designing for time.

Unknown

An army of sheep led by a lion would defeat an army of lions led by a sheep.

Arabian proverb

Organizations are constrained to produce designs that mimic their communication structure.

Conway's Law

Designers should know just as much about other disciplines as they expect other disciplines to know about design.

Bill Buxton

It is far easier to figure out if something is fragile than to predict the occurrence of an event that may harm it.
